Here are the class descriptions:
The Beauty of Doing Nothing
Most of us move more often than we need or mean to. This class is designed to show you how doing less movement in your dancing will allow for so much more to happen!
Dr Drew's LindyLine
What is this?
Have you ever taken a private lesson and learned a lot from it? Or even just watched a private lesson, worked on the things you saw them talking about, and learned a lot from it? Did you learn details about your dancing in one hour that took months to learn in group classes? This class gives you the chance to experience some of the details that you can learn from either watching or taking a private lesson and applying it to your dancing.
How will this happen? What is the structure?
Andrew will be dancing with and giving detailed intermediate to advanced level comments to one lead & one follow while you watch. Then he will take a short break to give you a chance to ask questions & apply these details to your own dancing. Repeat this 6 more times and finish off with an Aha discussion, to overload you with details that make a difference.
Why would this help me?
The details of the dance are what improves most higher level dancers. These details can be hard to understand unless they are broken down in to specific layers and you get to see the difference one layer can make in someone's dancing. In this class, you will get to see the difference that subtle layers can make and you will immediately get to work on how to implement them into your dancing.
What else?
Beginners will get to put intermediate & advanced details into their dancing. Intermediate & Advanced dancers will get to learn subtle details that make a difference. Teachers will learn more things that can make a difference in someone's dancing in less than 10 minutes.
Connection, Counterbalance, and Beyond
This class will work on the details behind the details. What types of connections are essential but usually unseen? Which fundamental connections are important to make counterbalanced movement easy? How can you dance with someone who seems to have different fundamentals than you? How can I be more aware of how my balace affects my partner? By the end of this class, questions like these will be easy for you to answer and start to integrate into your dancing.
Aerial Fundamentals
This class breaks down the vertical connection techniques of aerials so precisely that once learned, your vertical connection both in aerials and in regular dancing will never skip a beat. And don't worry, there are no dangerous moves in this class. No dance experience necessary.
Leg Leads & Natural Leg Momentum
This is a class on the fundamentals of leg leading, leg following and leg motions. Andrew uses these leg lead concepts to show many different fun & unexpected movements as well as teach how to be more natural in your leg momentum.
Charleston Games
This high energy, fun, community-building class will show you over 40 Charleston moves, give you lots of styling tips, plus show you 3 games you can play to add more variety to your dance nights.
Dancing like Superman - The art of solo dancing fast
When Superman is flying 300 miles an hour it looks fast to others but it doesn't feel that fast to him and it doesn't need to feel that fast for us dancing either. Still, before learning to move or be moved by a partner at speeds above 200bpm, it is important to learn how to move yourself above these speeds. In this class you will learn how to solo dance and make it feel like you are going at a jogging speed (175-200bpm) when you are really flying by at 250 - 300bpm.
That Extra Something Special
You know when you watch someone who has been dancing for a long time and they just seem to have something special that makes them seem to move more gracefully then newer dancers. This class will get you moving more fluidly by discussing detailed techniques on continuous momentum and giving you some challenging drills that you can do to dramatically increase your ability to move with grace, balance, and precision when executing your movements.
Making Your Night Out Dancing Amazing
Sometimes you go out dancing and the energy in the room is amazing! Other nights at the same venue, with the same people, and the same music, sometimes it is just NOT amazing at all. This class will teach you the things that can make your night (and many other people's nights) change from not so great to "Remember the time when we..., Wow, that was one heck of a night!"
